click on the fb icon and head over to our page and tick like on that too! home new page calendar contact more click here to book us now! hi guys, and thanks for dropping by to check us out! this is where you can find all the latest info about the band, where we are playing in the future, listen to our latest tracks, see our bios, buy merchandise, get links to our social media sites - in fact, all the stuff you would ever want to know about bfc! ​ anyone can make a flashy website, but the real proof is to see us live! come and see the band , and you'll soon know why bfc have been the 'go to' band for so many prestigious festivals including marlborough jazz, upton blues, cheltenham jazz, wotton blues and many more..... built for comfort was born around the start of the millenium.our singer and front man, alec adams, formed the band to bring hard and kickin' r&b to the forefront in our home counrty of wiltshire. after many adventures, 1000's of gigs and more line-up changes than you can shake a stick at, we arrive at the 2017 version, which is claimed by many to be the best yet! our sound is straight out of chicago, with a healthy dose of memphis and new orleans thrown in for good measure! a bit about us! © 2016 by built for comfort. proudly created with wix.com links youtube channel facebook twitter instagram soundcloud bandcamp spotify back to top "thanks for your cd - it arrived today. sounds great and i might get to play it a second time if i can prise it away from my son! seems to be a family thing this love of chicago blues - can't be much wrong with that! hope to see you and the guys at a gig soon." dave charlton built for comfort are booked into the studio early in 2018,so please be patient while we record a new cd! music this is who we are......... alec adams - vocals michael king - guitars simon needler - hammond and piano mickey januszkiewicz - bass guitar eric sharp - drums ....see below for pics of us and a few words about what we've done! photos download hi-res alec hails from the isle of wight where he spent his teenage years working at the late 60's and 70's iconic pop festivals. this gave him a strong liking for a wide range of music. however, it wasn't until later in life that he actually performed in a band. he first played drums and sang in a pop covers band called 'sexual chocolate', then became vocalist in another similar band called 'the full monty' before forming firstly, 'the hot tamales', with billy jones which evolved in 'built for comfort. alec's strong, bluesy voice is the backbone of the band, and his interpretation of both standards and lesser known blues songs does much to give bfc its unique sound as the leader of the band it falls to him to be the frontman not only on stage but the spokesman and organiser - a jobs he handles with great skill. mickey has been involved in music since age 6 when he first picked up piano accordion, a very difficult instrument to start on, because it involved learning the complete theory of music, it having both a bass and keyboard layout. at age 11 he turned his hand to brass instruments and made the school brass band within the first week, followed by malmesbury town brass band for a short while as mickey had discovered the bass guitar! mickey’s parents purchased him a one, and he joined the “after school guitar club”. the teacher wasn’t too happy about the bass guitar as it was mainly an acoustic guitar class, but nevertheless he was taught a few things which got him on his way. still at the age of 11, mickey got himself into a band, and started playing around the clubs & pubs, later joining different variations of bands from playing pop, rock and even a dance band. mickey has toured the uk and europe with different bands, but was “over the moon” when asked to join his favourite local band… built for comfort . video see more simon has been a working musician for longer than he cares to remember! after piano lessons as a child, he was very much involved in the '60s beat boom, first as a drummer and later on keys. he has played many iconic venues including the cavern, the marquee and wembley stadium! his band recorded for pye records in the late sixties/early seventies before he decided to take a break to raise a family and run a business, he returned to music in 1997, again first on drums and then back to keys in 2005 and has been playing them ever since. he has played in just about every sort of band you can imagine, from hard rock to function bands. he is very proud of his stage kit which includes the latest hammond digital keyboard, and his pride and joy - an original 1963 leslie speaker, without which he would not be able to re-produce those sometimes growling, sometimes screaming, hammond/leslie chops! michael's youthful looks are very deceptive! they hide the years of experience that he has under his guitar strap. his talent and ability are, in the words of others ' 'the equal of some of the best r+b blues guitarists around today.
